After that, click OK -> Apply to save the changes. If the monitor is not set as the default device, click on the monitor device to highlight it. To do so:ġ) Right-click on the speaker icon in the bottom right corner of the desktop and select Sounds.Ģ) Select the Playback tab, then you’ll see if the monitor is set as the default audio device. If not, you’ll need to set it to the default audio device manually. In Playback, check if the monitor device is set as the default audio device. Method 3: Set monitor as default audio device If Method 2 doesn’t work for you, try Method 3. Click on it then the sound will be unmuted. If it’s muted, you’ll see a red circle with a red line on it. Then the Volume Mixer window will pop up.ģ) At Volume Mixer, check if the volume of the monitor is muted. You can follow these steps to check that:ġ) On your keyboard, press Win+R (the Windows logo key and the R key) at the same time to invoke the Run box.Ģ) Type “ sndvol.exe” into the Run box and press Enter. So make sure the monitor volume is not muted. When no sound issue on the monitor occurs, it’s possible the volume of the monitor is muted. Method 2: Make sure the volume is not muted If your monitor does have built-in speakers, continue to try other methods. Or you can refer to the product user manual. To check that, you can go to LG’s official website and look for your monitor’s specifications. For monitors without built-in speakers, they won’t play any audio. Not all LG monitors have built-in speakers. 75Hz and a 5ms gtg rating means you'll only want to do casual gaming on it but I'm sure you'd know that before buying it.Method 1: Make sure your LG monitor has built-in speakers I haven't gotten into gaming and response time yet but I'm sure it's fine. What's more, content for this format continues to increase. It's likely due to this being an IPS panel which has better viewing angles when compared to other panel types but as far as I can see, there doesn't appear to be any noticable banding when sitting in the middle, 3-4 feet away (an appropriate distance for a monitor of this size and aspect ratio).Ĭinematic content is fantastic! Outside of productivity tasks, watching movies and streaming content is beyond great when the content fits. Initially, I thought any ultra wide needed a curve because I figured there would be massive distortion due to the limited viewing angles but now that I have it, I can say without a doubt that a curve at this size is not necessary. I've never been a color snob and my income will never allow me to be so I can only say the colors look fine, but I don't own a calibration device and I can't tell you objectively about the p3, grayscale, or saturation. It's great! I moved from dual 24in 1080p monitors so the stepping up to 1440 vertical is fantastic! I actually had slightly more real estate with my dual monitor setup but the ability to center your primary focus can't be overpraised.
